FREE 8 Weeks to Real Foods

Be challenged and adventurous!
Go to Vintage Remedies and sign up for 8 Weeks to Real Foods!

I LOVE free things, especially things that are useful. So, I am passing on a link that I found from blogger Lindsay at Passionate Homemaking. It is a FREE 8 week guide to eating real foods. Once you sign up for their emails, you will receive 8 PDF's that introduce you to new foods, while helping you eliminate unhealthy items from your pantry... one week at a time!

I am by no means an expert in this. In fact, I am trying some of these things for the first time ever! So, this is more of an encouragement for myself to really try and give an honest look at my personal diet habits... in hopes of creating a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family.

38 Weeks

Wow, where has the time gone??? Last post was "12 Weeks" and clearly... I have not kept this up very well. I have good intentions with this post, however. Seeing as how our tiny bundle will be here soon, I want this blog to serve as a good place for communication and updates on family news for folks back home!

For those who didn't know, we are having a BOY and his name will be Everett Aaron. We are thrilled to meet him and have just recently finished a big move from our apartment to a rental home... baby room is under way tonight and will hopefully be finished, sans decorative frills... that will come soon enough! The essentials are the essentials for now.

Other than awaiting baby, we are getting adjusted to the move, keeping busy with our jobs, and wondering what the next few weeks will look like!

On another note, so excited for Fall and cooler weather... the holidays (and football season) are here!

12 Weeks

Baby is now 12 weeks and I got to hear the heartbeat this week ♥ 160 beats a minute, and I wish that minute could have lasted longer... it was amazing to hear the sound of life coming from a place where no baby can yet be seen!

I keep thinking of Psalm 139 where it says how God knows us when we are formed in the depth of the womb and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him.

Next appointment is April 28, and we should find out, pink or blue!

The Daily Oswald

Taken from March 26th, an excerpt from My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers.

"If the spiritual bloom of our life with God is getting impaired in the tiniest degree, we must leave off everything and get it put right. Remember that vision depends on character—the pure in heart see God." (Ref. Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.")

I thought this was so compelling and insightful! How many times have you met a person and thought, "Wow! They have such vision?" I know I have met a few people like that. And if their vision is good and pure, have you ever thought that perhaps their character is too, and that having a vision is more than just having a plan or a goal... that it's also the ability to see God? What might God be telling you to do or giving you a vision for? Very challenging words today!

Dayana

Her name is Dayana Abigail, and she is one of nearly 500 orphans at Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras. This little beauty recently came into our life as God laid it on our hearts to give and make a difference! Our church has become a dedicated partner with this Orphanage, going on trips, praying for them, and finding sponsors for about 63 children who are still unsupported. I am so excited to start sending her letters and gifts, sharing Christ's love with her, and watching her grow! She is about 2 years old and looks sweet as can be. Hopefully in the the next year or so, we may be able to take a trip and visit her.

If you would like to learn more about Orphanage Emmanuel, you can visit their site or ask me questions! There is so much to say about this place, but not nearly enough words. If you would like to sponsor a child, let me know! I will get you to the right place :)

9 Weeks

Today baby is 9 weeks, about 1" long (the size of a grape) and has all essential body parts accounted for. Baby's heart is almost fully finished dividing into four chambers and valves are forming. Amazing.

It's still so crazy to me. A little life is growing, and is part me/part the man I love. This little person has a soul, talents, hair and eye color are determined, the sound of their voice and gender... how wonderful to know that from day 1, all these things were knit together in the DNA code that God desired for this little one to have.

Praying for baby, that all is well and safe.
